Inside/Outside (2025)

hand building, wheel throwing, glaze

Inside/Outside is a body of work exploring the body as both a physical form and ephemeral presence. The body is simultaneously a boundary and a container, yet so much of it remains unseen, unknowable, and private to us. We spend most of our lives without knowing what our insides look like, or why we are tormented by the darkness in our psyche. This work examines the body in its physical and psychological form, highlighting the tension between what is shown and what is concealed.

Through a series of six to eight handbuilt sculptures that elicit feelings of discomfort and intrigue, I combined the separation of identities and merging of sensory elements to mirror the complexities of emotional experience and embodiment.
